Focusing on the Primary years (from Prep to Year 7), Primary Education at USQ offers you the opportunity to gain the unique knowledge and expertise needed to educate young learners. If you have a passion for engaging with learners from around five to twelve years of age, our Primary Education programs will give you the skills and qualifications you need to become a successful, contemporary educator.
At USQ, you’ll be part of the Education profession from your first day of study, with additional professional activities and industry networking opportunities which support your learning, equip you with practical classroom skills and enhance your employability and job readiness.
You’ll begin your professional experience placements early in your studies, in a variety of Primary education settings, including options to complete placements in unique rural, remote and overseas settings.
Queensland College of Teachers compiled a report called Why choose teaching? A Matter of Choice: Evidence from the Field to help you understand why and for who teaching may be suited.
As a USQ Primary Education graduate you will be eligible to apply for teacher registration through the Queensland College of Teachers and will be qualified for employment as a teacher in schools in Queensland, elsewhere in Australia and potentially overseas.
