Do you wish to gain a formal undergraduate award in English language proficiency for professional or employment purposes?
Our Diploma of English for University Studies is designed to give you that formal qualification while helping build your advanced written and spoken communication skills.
Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE)
In addition to advancing your skills in written and spoken communication in the tertiary environment, the courses in this program will provide you with skills and preparation required to undertake the Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE). If you decide to take the test, it may provide certification of your English language levels that are needed for professional registration bodies in areas such as nursing, education and accounting.

- Master of Learning and Teaching
- Master of Professional Psychology
- Master of Psychology (Clinical)
How much will it cost?
Approximate annual costs1 for your first year of study (8 units) in this program are:

Loan to help you pay your fees
You may not have to pay your course (subject) fees upfront. HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP allows you to defer your fees until your income reaches a certain level.
You may also be eligible to receive financial support from Centrelink.
Students must have successfully completed the Certificate of English for University Studies.
Students must be at least 18 years in the year of the proposed enrolment.
English Language Requirements
You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.
How to apply
Applying directly to USQ:
- Semester 1, 2018 - applications close Monday 19 February, with semester 1 commencing on Monday 26 February 2018.
- Semester 2, 2018 - applications close Monday 2 July, with semester 2 commencing on Monday 16 July 2018.
