Develop your English language skills

Are you looking to advance your English language skills? USQ’s Certificate of English for University Studies will provide you with a formal undergraduate award while building your capacity to manage information, expand your knowledge, and communicate your ideas and thoughts more effectively in the English language.

Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE)

In addition to advancing your skills in written and spoken communication in the tertiary environment, the courses in this program will provide you with skills and preparation required to undertake the Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE). If you decide to take the test, it may provide certification of your English language levels that are needed for professional registration bodies in areas such as nursing, education and accounting.

Loan to help you pay your fees

You may not have to pay your course (subject) fees upfront. HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP allows you to defer your fees until your income reaches a certain level.

You may also be eligible to receive financial support from Centrelink.

Entry Requirements

Completion of senior secondary schooling in the home country or equivalent, or year 12 in an Australian high school, or completed ‘A’ levels, or mature age entry.

Students must be at least 18 years in the year of the proposed enrolment.

English Language Requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.

If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

  • Semester 1, 2018 - applications close Monday 19 February, with semester 1 commencing on Monday 26 February 2018.
  • Semester 2, 2018 - applications close Monday 2 July, with semester 2 commencing on Monday 16 July 2018.
